Is the Zama Reboot Program just another detox program?

No. The Zama Reboot program does incorporate a cleanse shake which is an integral part of the program however it's different from other "detoxes" and "cleanses" being marketed. It is designed to help you lower the inflammation in the body and release some built gunk so that your body can heal.

Sustainability.. The goal of the Zama Reboot Cleanse is to help you feel better within 30 days but it is also designed to help you be able to sustain and maintain the benefits of the cleanse after you finish it. There's no point in doing something great for 30 days and then just going back to your 'old ways' after the cleanse is over.   The one thing in common with all of these other detox programs is that they only focus on the short term physical aspects of cleansing..... AND, you're left to do it on your own. These detox programs may help you feel better in the short run but they are not designed to help you reboot your health and mindset for the long term...... and, they do not focus on setting the stage for long-term inflammation reduction, but the Zama Reboot Program does!
Inflammation is the underlying factor and cause for most degenerative and chronic diseases and that's why I keep harping on it. (I did a whole webinar on it if you're interested:)

Is the Zama Reboot a Paleo diet?   No.
There are some overlapping guidelines however the Zama Reboot Program is not a paleo cleanse. I don't have anything against Paleo however, in my experience, the Zama Reboot is a better place to start.

Most people have heard that the liver,  kidneys, gut and skin are our main organs of detoxification and should be cleansed of the toxins they've accumulated over the years.... BUT this is only one part of a good detox program. Ensuring the individuals cells... yes, all 50 trillion of them need to be supported - the little "windows" and "doors" on them need to be opened up so the toxins can get out and the good stuff can get in. This is why biotherapeutic drainage is so important! (and, most cleanses do not address this!)

Mental and emotional toxins can also be stored in our cells and tissues..... and guess what? Any negative thoughts and beliefs affect how your cells work and can set the stage for ill health later on. So, clear out the negative stored emotions and thoughts... your long term health depends on it!

The Zama Reboot Program addresses all aspects of our health-- the physical, mental, and energy centers. Cleansing all these areas and maintaining a focus on these areas for 4 weeks will not only help to achieve many short term benefits but it will also set you up to have your best year yet!

So, clear out the physical gunk so your body functions better. Clear out the mental gunk and optimize your mindset so you can achieve all that you want to achieve this year. And clear out the energetic gunk that may be holding you back from gaining all the successes in every aspect of your life!

What are some of the specifics?

Ok, let's talk details..... there are certain foods that are considered "inflammatory".
These 8 foods + drinks are not allowed during the cleanse.

What are they?

Dairy, Wheat (gluten), Sugar, Eggs, Corn, Soy, Tomatoes, Peanuts, Alcohol, caffeine, and sodas
Meat is discouraged for the first half (but we can compromise on this if it's limited and grass-fed and organic:)

The first week is considered the "pre-cleanse" week. During this week you will start to eliminate the "inflammatory" foods listed above and you will start to take the drainage remedies. These remedies help to 'prep' your cells and get them ready to 'let go' of stored gunk. It's like opening all the doors & windows in your house before you start dusting and sweeping.

Starting in the 2nd week you will add in the cleanse shakes. You will have 2 shakes a day along with supplements that go with them. You can eat as much food as you like in addition to the shakes however the food cannot contain any of the inflammatory foods listed above.

Additionally, it is recommended that you monitor your urine pH if you really want to track how alkaline you're getting. Being alkaline is a good thing and helps our bodies ward off infections and lowers our risk for disease and maybe even cancer! This is not mandatory but it's an added way to monitor your progress.

Following a structured cleanse will allow you to gain control over your food cravings and guess what?!! Gaining control over food cravings will allow you to gain control over all other aspects of your life. I always feel empowered and more in control after completing a cleanse.

What else should you know?

The cleanse is not a "cure all"
If you have specific chronic health issues going on the Reboot program will not magically fix all of them. The Reboot will help to "clear up the fog" so you and your doctor can get a better idea of what the underlying cause is.  At the end of the cleanse you will have a "clearer" picture of what the next steps should be in addressing your specific health condition.
If you have chronic stuff going on then the Reboot is a really good starting point.... but don't assume it will fix everything in 30 days. It can profoundly impact your health for the better in many ways but it will not fix every single thing you have going on (most people know this but I have to state this for the .5% of people who may have unreasonable expectations:)

If you have questions, please ask!

Are there side effects?

The first few days can be rough for some people. If you are used to having coffee everyday then you're probably not going to be a very happy person for a few days.

If you're used to eating out a lot or eating foods that come out of a box then you will have to get used to cooking more.... or, even better... get a friend or spouse to do the cleanse with you and make cooking together a fun activity!  (and, instead of drinking wine, drink pomegranate juice...... in a wine glass:)

You may experience more fatigue initially. This usually only lasts up to a week or so and then usually energy goes way up.

If you're a highly sensitive person and react to supplements in general then this may not be for you. If that's the case there are other ways to cleanse but a customized protocol will have to be put together for you.

Keep in mind.....
Doing a cleanse is not easy and I won't pretend that it is.... BUT, after having done many cleanses I can tell you that following a structured cleanse is one of the best things I do for my health on a regular basis.

It just takes preparation and mindset that you're going to do it.

The cleanse will allow you to "reboot" your system and give your body a chance to heal
and let go of the gunk that's been holding it back and then function the way it should.

Why reboot with me?

I am a Naturopathic Doctor who is passionate about getting healthy, staying healthy, and preventing imbalances that could lead to disease and ill health later on.  I know what it's like to suffer from a chronic disease and heal from it. I complete a reboot program 1-2 times per year and have put together a program that can benefit almost anyone.

I strongly believe that following a structured cleanse allows me to regain control over my food cravings, gain mental clarity, and helps me get focused on my goals.   I always feel amazing afterwards!

I was diagnosed with a serious chronic disease (ulcerative colitis) when I was 19? I took steroids and was put on medication to help the suppress the symptoms. I was told that I would likely get cancer in my 30s and that having children would likely be a challenge? I lived on the "roller coaster" ride of medications and side effects for a few years until I consulted with a Natural Medicine Doctor while living overseas. I followed his advice and was off all my meds and felt "normal" again after only 8 weeks.  I reversed my disease process entirely over the next few years.
I share this with you because this experience empowered me so much and made me realize how amazing our bodies are and that it can absolutely heal given the proper environment.  I changed my entire career to become a Naturopathic Doctor.
Cleanses have been a part of my life for the past 10 years (ever since becoming a Naturopathic Doctor) and I have put most of my patients on some sort of cleanse in the process of their healing journey.

Zama Reboot Program

4 week cleanse program

Lisa ODonnell

I loved the cleanse, especially the protein powder, which tastes great.

I had been having hot flashes throughout the day and night, and trouble sleeping. Both of these issues disappeared by the end of the second week and thankfully have not returned.

I have tried several other cleanses, and the Zama Reboot is the most gentle yet effective.

I hope to do it again soon!

I started the cleanse program after hearing about it from facebook....I know a couple of people that have done it and I know it really helped them reset their bodies and as I entered this new stage of my life post babies, I was ready to focus on "me" for a while....In all honesty, it was not nearly as hard as I imagined it would be! Toast has always been my go to meal, especially when I just wanted a light meal....That was my biggest challenge but I survived and came out being more in touch with my body than I had been for a very long time! The aches I had in my joints (mainly my ankles) were gone and I generally felt lighter and healthy and its a wonderful feeling! I highly recommend talking to Dr. Reena about issues you might have and giving this cleanse a go! It might not seem feasible at first but stick with it and you'll come out looking and feeling stronger and healthier than you have in a while!

I have suffered from Migraines my entire life. In addition, as we age, minor aches and pains become a regular part of our life. We learn to live with it without realizing how much we have slowed down in the process. I was introduced to the Zama cleanse through a friend and I decided to give it a try. The diet wasn't too difficult for me. The best part was that I had so much energy and slept soundly.

I was mentally very relaxed and happy, in general! I didn't even realize that all those age-related aches and pain were gone completely and my migraines had completely gone away! I lost 8 pounds during the process which was a shock to me because my thyroid issues makes it very difficult to lose weight.

I realized the REAL benefits of the cleanse after it was over and I started to go back to my old ways. The Reboot really helped me to understand what is and isn't good for my body and mind.

I lost weight, my migraines went away and my aches and pains disappeared! I gained high energy, better mood and better sleep.

This was my first time and I would do it again in a heartbeat! I would recommend this cleanse to anyone and everyone.

I have tried many cleanses, but the Zama Reboot has been by far the most effective and gentle. I loved the many helpful health tips and being part of a group cleanse. I experienced several remarkable health improvements. For six months prior to the Reboot, I had been suffering from adhesive capsulitis (frozen shoulder), an inflammatory condition in my left shoulder that did not improve with physical therapy or pain killers. After about two weeks into the Reboot, I noticed one morning that I was able to move my left arm again, and by the end of the cleanse had regained about 95% of the mobility in my shoulder. My energy levels also greatly improved and I have sleeping much better. I am looking forward to the next Reboot!

The cleanse was great! The recipes provided by Dr. Singh were helpful and gave me plenty of tasty options to choose from.

Prior to beginning the cleanse, I was struggling with high blood pressure and cholesterol. Upon completing the cleanse, my cholesterol, blood pressure and blood sugar levels all came down to normal levels. As a side I lost 20 pounds in a little under a month. My doctor was very pleased and ordered me off of the blood pressure medicine I was taking. Needless to say, I am very happy to not be taking any medication.

My blood pressure was so high that the doctors always did it at least 3 times and told me that medications were the next step. My cholesterol and triglycerides were "scary" too but I really didn't want to start taking medications. I knew I had to do something. I was having a really hard time motivating myself to make the changes I needed to. The Zama Reboot was perfect because it was structured and I received all the guidance and instructions I needed to stick with it. I am happy to say that after following the program my blood pressure is now almost normal which is *huge* for me and my cholesterol dropped almost over 30 points. It wasn't easy in the beginning but it is so worth it.
